The girls will be 10 months old this week. We've decided to start introducing solid foods. Lilo has been showing a lot of interest but Stitch is still hesitant.
Here they are in their highchairs trying out the Cheerios. We'll take it slow from here. I love not having to mess with baby food though. It's great when they go straight to the table foods!
Here is some information about the benefits of delaying solids. Even the AAP has revised their recommendations now to allow for 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding before the introduction of solids.
With my first child I was so anxious to introduce solid foods. Within days my cycles returned. With my second child I introduced solids at 11 months and again my cycles returned. This time around I am really hoping that nursing twins has some magical power that can prevent me from being fertile again just yet. Although I have the baby fever I am NOT ready for another baby yet. This will be the first time I've made it to a first birthday without being pregnant again though.
On another note, here's what we've been up to lately.
We built the kids a playground in the back yard. It was partially a gift from Grandma and Great Grandma too. I really wanted something that was natural wood and not pressure treated lumber, but this was all we could afford for now.
I have major issues with chemically treated wood, especially after my husband almost lost his foot after an accident a few years ago. Anyway, I digress....
