Jason once told me a story about how, when he was younger, he was in the checkout line at the grocery store with his dad. Jason was eyeing the rows of candy and asked his dad to buy some. His dad said, "No, you don't want to eat that garbage." And of course Jason replied, "Yes, I do!"
(He still likes to eat "garbage!")
We may have only lived in Washington for a few weeks, but we've already made multiple trips to Seattle and Portland and everywhere in between. Jason will drive anywhere if there is food involved.
Jason and I love to watch the Travel Channel and I am pretty sure that Jason makes a mental note of every great eatery that he sees. So, it's no surprise that he was willing to drive to Portland for donuts (and pumpkins.)
VooDoo Doughnut is pretty famous but Jason only had one thing on his mid... the bacon maple bar.
Personally, I think it's gross. But I also don't like to mix my food (I'm a little OCD, just like Matthew) so the thought of a donut with maple and bacon is just... icky. But Jason loved it. In fact, we've been to VooDoo twice already!
Each of the kids tried one of the interesting donuts that they sell-from their signature VooDoo doll to donuts with names like Miami Vice Berry, Grape Ape, and Dirty Snowballs.
I'm a sucker for donuts. (Just ask my dad, who used to cart me to get donuts on the weekend and watch me devour them two or three at a time.)
Ahh, garbage tastes so good!
