And, no, it's not a baby.
Meet Juno. She's 5 years old and we found her through a local rescue group. Ironically, she was born in Georgia and ended up here in Washington. She loves our almost 7-year old dog, Delmar and he loves her. She's been a wonderful addition to our family and Delmar is enjoying having a doggy playmate for the first time in the 6 years we've had him.
Juno arrived to us with the name Jera. The kids were calling her She-ra. Then Matthew pointed out that it sounded like Hera, the mythological Greek goddess. Juno was the Roman name for Hera and so it stuck. (Yes, my kids have spent a great deal of time studying Greek and Roman history this year!)
Juno has a soft, purple blanket that looks very similar to the blankets that Leila and Sarah have had since birth. Just the other day I caught Juno and Leila napping on the couch together with their blankets. At night, Juno prefers to crawl under my sheets and sleep next to my side. I guess I'm cosleeping with a dog now...
